Maureen is one of our most experienced performers, and it shows! Her stage presence is amazing. Maureen was in the original production of Hair: The Musical, and remembers a very different time for our community.

The Ballarat Frolic Festival Committee of Management would like to announce that committee member Melissa ‘Mel’ Whitaker has decided to step down from her role on the committee.

We want to thank Mel for all the work she’s done over the past couple of years – first as a volunteer with the organisation and then as a committee member. Her contributions to running our events have been huge and we wish her all the best. Mel will always be a valued member of the Frolic community!
We’d also like to announce that long time Frolic volunteer Sarah Hirst has been elected to the committee. We’re confident that Sarah’s experience as a Frolic volunteer and dedication to the arts and performance will be a fantastic asset to the organisation.
Our new team is super excited to be working together and we can confirm that last night we met for the first time as a new committee and finalised (fingers crossed!) our festival events for 2019! Yay!

We’re super proud to announce new features to the Frolic website www.frolicfestival.org!
Firstly, you’ll find a new events page! This page will list all local upcoming LGBTIQA+ events – including every Frolic festival event when our program is finalised. You’ll be able to go straight there and get all the information you need – including maps, ticket information, and a handy feature to save them into your own calendar. Check it out now to find three events coming up very soon in Ballarat!
Secondly, we now have a recent news section on the home page so you don’t miss the latest Frolic news. You can also head to the new blog page on the top menu to go back in time and flick through all our previous news items.
Thirdly, we’ve added an ‘about us’ section – in case you still have no idea who we are or what we do.
And lastly, we’ve added a new volunteers page filled with handy information on what Frolic volunteers do and how to sign up to volunteer.
There’s still a few small changes we’ll be adding to the website but until then, we hope you like the new website as much as we had fun updating it! ❤️
