Writing the Body Workshop
Join award winning poet, writer and researcher Dr Quinn Eades in a talk on writing from life experience and body perspectives at the Ballarat Library. At this event, hosted byt the Queer Ballarat writers group ‘Wrainbow Writers’, Quinn will discuss the politics of life writing and the ways that writing stories from other bodies can broaden minds and promote social change.
The Bush Dance
Ballarat Frolic Festival welcomes you to the Frolic Bush Dance, come join the country queers for the queerest Hoedown you’ve ever been to! The Earthworker Bushdance Band will play all the bluegrass you can handle along with gender neutral square dance calling.
The After Party
Missed the bus, or just want to keep partying? So do we! Join the hilarious Gabriella Labucci and Lance DeBoyle for a barn busting after-party at Element Nightclub. 11pm – late. Sweet Dreams DJ’s will be spinning tracks at the after party!

Gay Day Out
One of Ballarat’s finest bars, the Hop Temple, hosts our relaxed Sunday arvo laneway party. Between the food trucks and Hop’s ridiculously huge range of drinks, we’ll have your tastebuds singing.
The Price is Wrong
Expect nothing short of an hilarious and quite naughty night of trivia, games, music, audience participation and prizes with popular daggy 70’s style hosts Freddie Fandango & Adriana Obsceneties at Suttons House of Music on Sturt St.
It’s a trivia night with a twist. No Science, History and Sport rounds, just loads of music, pop culture, gossip and glitter!

The Art Show Opening
The regional queer art show brings together diverse and talented artists from across our region to showcase their remarkable talent. Take in the works over cocktails and canapes at this opening night event in the Gaybles at the Miners’ Tavern.
The show will also be available for viewing between 4 – 7pm on Thursday.
Frolic On Screen
oin us in FedUni’s Old Courthouse building on Camp St for our queer film night (you can’t miss it, it has a giant pink handbag out the front!).
Our film night will feature a Q&A with the creators and a screening of this years’ short doco Out of the Closets, Into the Streets. The doco explores the moment Melbourne’s Queer community found their voice through the 1970’s Gay Liberation Movement.
Then we’ll show our feature, All About E, the 2015 Australian film about a lesbian girl who’s life is turned upside down when she goes on the run.
The event is free to Frolic members, non-members can join at the door.
Kreepy Karaoke
It’s Friday the Thirteenth at the Miner’s Tavern! Come sing along to the spookiest songs around while supporting your community festival, Ballarat Frolic Festival.
Great music all night, and dress up to go in the costume competition!

Youth & Families Picnic
During the day Federation University’s LGBTQIA student association, Rainbow Collective, in conjunction with the Ballarat PrideHub will be hosting a youth and families picnic. Bring along your picnic basket and all your favourite people to Alfred Deakin Place in central Ballarat for games, competitions, and prizes – this one’s for all ages!

Join your host Paige Phoenix as the thirty-piece Melbourne Rainbow Band entertains you throughout the night along with a special performance by the Ballarat Queer Quoir.
Pride on the Lake & Big Brekkie
Ballarat City Rowing Club is getting queer and opening its shed to the local LGBTI community and friends. Come down for a morning on the lake to mingle with our queer rowers, inquire about learning or joining, and test your technique. Bring a fiver for a recovery Big Brekkie, and go in the draw to win a five-class pass to The Rowing Studio.
